Lakefield Horticultural Society meetings are held monthly at the Marshland Centre, which is on Hague Point in the Village of Lakefield. From County Rd. 29 coming into Lakefield from Peterborough, turn left (north) on Clementi Street (before the bridge) to where it curves and turns into Deyncourt Street. Follow Deyncourt past Kingdon TimberMart and turn to the left heading towards the Lakefield Park and Beach. The Marshland Centre is at the end of the road in the park on the left.
Each month we enjoy tea, coffee and some delectable snacks provided by members. A small donation is accepted and will be forwarded to Lakefield’s Youth Unlimited. Each year YU uses the funds to help teach young people a bit about growing vegetables and herbs. They then use them to learn how to cook and also sell some of the produce at the Lakefield Farmers Market. Contact Chris at YU for more details.
Special Guest Speaker
Each year in April, we have an extra special guest speaker where a small admission fee is charged to help cover the extra costs. These evenings sell out, so early ticket purchases are suggested. Tickets can be purchased from board members or at The Avant-Garden Shop in Peterborough. (705) 743-0068.

Watch for more information early in 2018. This will certainly sell out early so plan on attending the February meeting to get your $10 ticket.
