Welcome

In 2012 we celebrate 50 years
as a Horticultural Society.

Please join us at the Lakefield Marshland Centre each month to meet new friends, learn something new about gardening and give back in a fun way!

Admission is free to most meetings, and you don't have to be a member to come. We always love to see new guests. Our meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month (except June & August) at 7:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

NEXT EVENT

April 10th7:30p.m. Vicki Taylor-Scott: Garden Focal Points and Garden Rooms

Vicki has her degree in Ornamental Horticulture (from the University of Guelph) and is a Certified Horticulturist and a Certified Landscape Designer – “she is just certifiable”.  She is a regular guest on television and radio programs, writes articles for newspapers and magazines and her speaking engagements (including Canada Blooms and The Peterborough Garden Show) take her across the province.

Vicki has recently moved to Guelph where she is currently writing her masters, earning her degree in landscape architecture and in her spare time, will be teaching at her old alma mater.

She developed and nurtured her garden club for over 300 children called S.L.U.G.S. (Special Little Uxbridge GardenerS). She happens to be the mother of the ‘best son in the world’ and wife…to a very understanding husband.

Enjoy and have fun with her presentation!

This will be a fundraising event. Admission is $5, by ticket.  Best to get your ticket from a board member or at The Avant-Garden Shop in advance as there are a limited number of seats.  Door prizes and refreshments are included. For tickets or information contact Dot at 705-652-0684 or Brenda @ 705-743-0068.

Decorative: “Easter Egg” – a small design in an egg cup (design must be between 5.5” and 10” in any direction)

Directions to the Marshland Centre

Lakefield Horticultural Society meetings are held monthly at the Marshland Centre, which is on Hague Point in the Village of Lakefield. From County Rd. 29 coming into Lakefield from Peterborough, turn left (north) on Clementi Street (before the bridge) to where it curves and turns into Deyncourt Street.  Follow Deyncourt past Kingdon TimberMart and turn to the left heading towards the Lakefield Park and Beach.  The Marshland Centre is at the end of the road in the park on the left.
