Speaker – Container water gardens

Unfortunately Rowena Burns, our Oct. 14th scheduled speaker, is not available. With very short notice Peter Gill has volunteered to fill in with a similar talk.

He will show us how to make a container water garden and discuss pond plants and pond care.

At the end of the presentation he will donate the container water garden that he produces to our raffle draw. So be sure to get your raffle ticket from Janice so you’ll have a chance at a new addition to your garden!

Peter Gill Bio-data

Peter and his wife Christine have been gardening in Ontario since their first garden in 1979.  Their experience is practical and down-to-earth and over the years they have honed their skills in various aspects of gardening.

Peter now a retired Control Tech from Ontario Hydro spends his time setting up and maintaining websites for societies/clubs. As Instructor for Electrical & Electronics for Ontario Hydro (Nuclear Division) he shares his expertise on pumps, motors, technical info and safety with water gardening. He is currently Treasurer of the Water Garden Society having been President of the Water Garden & Ontario Delphinium Clubs in the past years.

A pond offers a relaxing spot to read a book, take a nap or just relax. Isn’t it about time to finally add that pond you’ve been thinking about for so long? On Oct. 14th Rowena will share her vast knowledge of water gardening with members and guests and help get you started or find solutions to the problems that you may have run into with your water garden. A short Q & A will be part of the presentation.
